Hi, I’m Steve and I own Alderney Real Estate Appraisal Ltd.
I’ve been a real estate appraiser since 1988 and have appraised many types of real estate, including houses, apartment buildings, industrial and commercial buildings, and land. Nova Scotia is my home and I have valued properties from Yarmouth to North Sydney with the bulk of them in the HRM. I take pride in providing accurate and reliable property valuations.
Alderney is fortunate to have a wide client base that includes individual, lenders, all levels of governments, lawyers, and appraisal management companies. This variety and meeting people like yourself keeps my job interesting.
I’m a big believer in volunteering, serving on the Board or Margarets House and various roles in the Nova Scotia Real Estate Appraisers Association including Past President. I also take seriously the role as a mentor. But best of all I have been happily married for 40 years and have two great kids.

Katheryn is an AACI, P.App at Alderney Real Estate Appraisals with 8 years of experience helping home and business owners with real estate appraisals. Katheryn’s specialties include: vacant parcels of land, all residential properties including single-family and multi-unit and commercial properties including; warehouses, single and mixed-use buildings, small to medium-sized apartment buildings, small office buildings and hotels. Drawing upon this wealth of experience, Katheryn provides clients with consulting or real property valuation services.
By focusing on market research, professional experience, education and customer service, Katheryn has been able to put the business degree that she earned at Saint Mary’s University and the professional accredited appraiser designation that she earned at the University of British Columbia and the Appraisal Institute of Canada to good use.
Over the years, Katheryn’s strengths at Alderney Real Estate Appraisals have garnered some recognition for her professional real estate appraisal services.
When she is not at the office, Katheryn is a passionate mom of three children and loves spending time with friends, listening to music and exercising.

APPRAISER
Born and raised in Southern Ontario, Jack graduated from the University of Guelph in 2018 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Economics and Finance. After taking a few years to travel, Jack settled in Halifax in 2020 and began his post-graduate education with the University of British Columbia in 2021.
He is currently a Candidate Member of the AIC pursing his designation as an AACI. Jack has been with Alderney Appraisals since the spring of 2022. When not at work, Jack enjoys playing golf, surfing, hiking and practicing the guitar.
